It’s been a while since my last post. Not because 3CX magically fixed all the issues that I’ve blogged about, but mostly because I ran out of ideas for witty titles. Also because how many times can I state the various issues 3CX as a company has?
But here I am again, typing away, because again 3CX has made another change that deserves to be brought out into the open. Just a few months ago, 3CX “got rid of” their 4SC license tier. This means:
- Existing 4SC licenses can be renewed, but at like double the cost
- No more 3CX hosting for 4SC – you have to self host
- 4SC sales do not count towards partner targets anymore
Basically, 3CX wants you to get rid of all your 4SC and moved to their Multi-Tenant offering. A real slap in the face for anyone who (when 3CX removed Multi-Tenant from v15 – v14 had it) spent the time and effort to move everyone to dedicated instances (as instructed to by 3CX at that time). Not to mention that Multi-Tenant doesn’t have all the needed features for many system installers – stuff like Music on Hold (MOH) customization or non-unique extension numbers per tenant.
With this latest change, you’ll want to be very careful about where you deploy 3CX – smaller customers need not apply.
