The Mod Hammer Swings Again – AKA Getting Banned For Asking A Question

Today’s post about the 3CX moderation system is a doozy and one we haven’t seen before. NWE on the 3CX forums asked how to pause / insert a wait into a CFD script and got banned. No negative comments, no complaints, no disparaging remarks on other sites – nothing other then asking for help. Their entire post read:

Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong location, I don’t seem to have sufficient access rights to post in the CFD forum.
I have a CFD flow that sends an after hours emergency notification via the pushover app using their API call, it works fine.

When the user gets the notification, they have an “acknowledge” button on the app. There is another follow-up API call where I can query the status (0 or 1) of the acknowledgement (confirm that the message was received). I also have this working by sending out an email from the flow showing the status (its always “0” because the message was just sent).
How can I wait a period of time, say 10 minutes, then check for acknowledgement? Something in the disconnect handler? If not acknowledged in 10 minutes, I’ll have the system notify a manager.

3CXs message to them is mind blowing. They (3CX) actually wrote in the ban note: “You have been banned for the following reason: too complex questions for simple 4 sc license.”

There’s really not much else to say about this situation. You have a paying customer being banned from the self help forums for asking questions. If I had to sum up the entire 3CX moderation system in 1 sentence, this might be the one. A word to the wise – seek help on other sites with 3CX least you be banned for asking configuration questions.
